Product Research and Review |

A
building is not complete without products.
Manufacturers flood us with catalogs, the internet, commercials, etc. For people with disabilities,
products are more than just a convenience they are a vital source of
independence. Shower bench seats,
operating dispenser controls, and lifts can make a building or facility ADA
compliant…or not. |

Reading
technical specification cut sheets to determine whether a product is
accessible can be difficult. Many
times the information is not clearly explained or easy to find. Sifting through cut sheets, doing internet
searches, or talking with suppliers or even knowing exactly what will work
takes time, knowledge, and effort. Let
ADA, Inc. assist you with researching what products you need, and review them
to ensure that they can be used easily and safely. This review includes but is not limited to: · elevators · kitchen
and rest room fixtures · dispensers · security
intercoms · lecterns · lab
equipment · wheelchair
lifts · …and
more Buyer BeAware! · Have
you ever regretted buying a product because it wasn’t all it was said to be? · Have
you purchased a product, perhaps an “ADA approved” dispenser, identified with
the little blue Symbol of Accessibility “seal of approval”, only to learn
that it wasn’t? There is no equivalent of the Underwriters Laboratory (UL) seal
of approval for accessibility products. It is important for you to be informed about what
you are buying. Knowledge and research
are the keys when shopping for products to ensure usability and safety by
your customer and employees with disabilities. ADA, Inc. will help you to determine
reliability when selecting products, and make you less likely to regret
buying it when you do. |
