Vice President, Design Consulting Services

Responsible for the creation, development, management and growth of the design consulting services department that provides comprehensive plan review, product research and review, contract warranty, educational training series, and technical assistance services to businesses, corporations, educational, governmental, and residential communities in their efforts to comply with the Americans With Disabilities Act, and other anti-discrimination accessibility-related laws, standards and codes.  Management includes the supervision of professional consultants and design interns.

Business Accessibility Disability Awareness Department

Promoted to Technical Assistance Coordinator

Responsibilities included accessibility evaluation and plan review services of public and privately owned buildings to determine compliance with Title II and Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and Fair Housing Act.  Performed training on Disability Sensitivity Awareness Etiquette to organizations and employers on how to effectively interact with people with disabilities, as the public or employees and co-workers.

Center for Independent Living of Southwestern Pennsylvania

Promoted to Service Coordinator/Housing Counselor

Responsibilities: Assisted consumers/general public with disabilities to seek accessible, affordable and fair-market housing.  Performed Section 504 accessibility evaluations of housing providers receiving federal funds, to ensure that such providers met all applicable requirements under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and Fair Housing Act.  Performed individual home modification assessments to assist consumers to remain living in their homes by providing attendant care evaluations, peer counseling, design and product solutions, and housing counseling services, as approved through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.  Assisted homeless individuals in seeking immediate temporary and long-term accessible housing.

Center for Independent Living of Southwestern Pennsylvania

Information and Referral Specialist

Responsibilities:  Performing attendant care services intake, information and referral to general public seeking out disability-related/accessible programs or services, products.  Provided back-up support to the Service Coordinator with accessibility evaluations and housing assistance.  Provided administrative support.
