We
have been an active member of the design teams for large public projects such
as the new David L. Lawrence
Convention Center, the O’Reilly Theatre, PNC Park, home of the Pittsburgh
Pirates, and Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. We have also provided extensive design
consulting services to US Home Corporation for the Boardwalk at Lakeside
Condominiums in Elk Wood, California. In addition, ADA, Inc. has developed
customized human resource training programs for supervisory staff at the
Pennsylvania State Education Association (PSEA), Integra Bank and Bayer
Corporation. Carnegie Mellon
University, The Community College of Allegheny County, The Carnegie Institute
and the City of Pittsburgh Housing Authority have all contracted with
Accessibility Development Associates, Inc. to perform ADA compliance
consultations in the areas of EEO Policies, Personnel Policy Review,
Grievance Procedure Reviews and Reasonable Accommodations for employees
and/or students, as well as Policy Program Development and Review. ADA, Inc. has also developed a Buddy™
Life/Safety Program for corporations and tenants in multi-floor
buildings. The program is designed to
provide training in the various methods of assisting individuals with
disabilities during emergency situations and evacuations. ADA, Inc.’s Buddy™ Life/Safety Program has
been implemented at Highmark/Standard Property Corporation for Fifth Avenue
Place and Penn Avenue Place, and for their headquarters facilities in Camp
Hill, PA, as well as for Winthrop Management Corporation for the USX
Tower. This program can be tailored to
meet a variety of commercial office buildings and locations. ADA, Inc. was selected via a competitive
process, to provide Title I ADA training for mid and upper level managers for
the City of Pittsburgh, through its training and human resources departments. ADA, Inc. is nationally recognized as
providing expert and quality ADA consulting services and is included in a
variety of resource lists, such as: National Center on Arts and Disability, UCLA Job
Accommodation Network (JAN), federally funded program of the President's Committee on the Employment of People with
Disabilities Mid-Atlantic
Technical Resource Center, funded by the US Department of Justice ADA, Inc. is recognized nationally for its
unique and effective methods of assisting businesses and other organizations
to realize the opportunities available to welcome customers, employees and
guests to their facilities, while enhancing their customer services. ADA, Inc. has extensive experience with
retail entities and has developed a National Retail Program. This program assists the organization in
developing a baseline of their ADA compliance where ADA, Inc. can then assist
the entity in prioritizing which retail sites to modify and can serve as a
valuable due diligence assessment. The
plan can also include design review and planning of a “foot-print” prototype
store for new construction of retail sites or the renovations/modification of
existing stores. The last phase of the
program includes a customized disability customer sensitivity training
program for supervisory as well as front line employees to equip those
individuals with the tools and skills necessary to interact with customers or
co-workers with disabilities. |
